Slate Frieze comprises 23 rectangular slabs of engraved slate to make a continuous 21m length along a wall.
The medium of the engraving is light. The angle and depth of the cut affects the appearance of the surface which appears to shift in response to your viewpoint, thereby giving the sense that something is happening in ‘real time’ and an awareness of one’s own existence in the present.
