June 2016 Black Brushstroke drawings exhibited at noshowspace, London

Six drawings by Susanna Heron titled Black Brushstroke are included in a group exhibition of Works in series at noshowspace, London, opening 14 June 2016.

Black Brushstroke are a series of double brushstrokes in acrylic paint on paper, 195 x 150 mm, made in 2012 in a series of 78. The works were made in the initial stage of mapping out a space for a site specific stone relief titled Travertine Frieze, measuring 6.3 metres x 13.5 metres at Chancery Lane. Due for completion in 2016.

Works in series include paintings, drawings, documents, artefacts and works on paper, often made in preparation for large-scale or site specific works. Exhibiting artists are Caline Aoun, Matt Calderwood, Martin John Callanan, David Cunningham, Susanna Heron, Alistair McClymont, Rie Nakajima, Giorgio Sadotti, Daniel Sturgis, Shaan Syed and Serra Tansel.
