‘Shima’ 1988 by Susanna Heron has been acquired for the Arts Council Collection. The sculpture is a work comprising two bronze objects on a low table. It relates to a wider group of works already in the Arts Council Collection, including ‘Shima: Island and Garden’ 1989-91 a series of 12 Cibachrome photographs and an artist’s book. The work was exhibited as part of a group entitled ‘Things Unseen’ in a one person exhibition at Camden Arts Centre in 1989. It was also exhibited in, and the prize winner of, the Tree of Life, 1989, a South Bank Centre touring exhibition. related works |
